LOL i just honestly dont wanna buy another amp at this point. i really wanted to get the re sx 18 but everyone says 900 rms isnt enough even though it says it only can handle 1000 rms everywhere.. so i went back to the kicker idea because i have a 12 inch L5 that hit pretty good. has anyone ran the sx 18 with around 900 rms??

i used to run an sx 15 off 1000rms which isnt going to be much difference than 900 and it loved it. i did a 144 on the termlab meter all day with a box tuned real low at 30hz, it killed the low notes. you will be fine running that power to it i say that over the L7

SX 15 would absolutely hammer tuned low as would anything DC sound lab or Fi. Asking for opinions for big ass ported shit on a tahoe forum isn't the best idea, check out realm of excursion or any other basshead/audiofile site as people are 95% JL/Kicker/Alpine over here. Best of luck on your decision

Those RE *** need a lot of power, stick with the SX or SE I think you can call reaudio direct and they'll hook you a pretty good deal. All my buddies running RE or Fi love their speakers and rave about the customer service.

IMHO, feeding a SX15 900 watts is a waste, get two 12's, that will work in small sealed. Fi SSD, Kicker Solo Classic, Alpine type R, RF p3,etc...

I've had about 20 different subs and love my solo classics, keep the gain low and they get louder than necessary. My two sealed 12s are louder and far cleaner that my buddys two type r 12s ported with a 1000w on both setups. Tiny ass box takes up no room and ANY music sounds fantastic through them. Just an idea if you want to use your truck 1.76 cf is a hell of alot easier to live with than 6-8cf and I can still set off car alarms.

ya i have a kicker 12" L5 in the kicker box sittin in my room its really not that big and i could pick up another one for relatively cheap and just wire it to 2 ohms and it could sound pretty good i think.
