I'm currently running 2 RE SX 15's powered by dual Sundown Audio SAZ 1500D. My enclosure is 8cubes (4cubes per sub) tuned to 32hz. I've been throwing around 1700WRMS to each sub as a daily street beater and they're still going strong. I've never been metered but my output is very decent. I am looking to go in a different direction woofer-wise. I may do a single 18 and strap my amps together.

too many variables to accurately say...

sealed or ported, what amp, what gain settings, what volatge, what impedance, etc,etc

Well stated my man.....I used a multimeter to match the gains on my amps to the voltage coming off of my HU. I will admit that the SX's are slightly underrated as I've been running them for over a year without frying the coils.

well im most likely gonna run a rockford t1000 rated at 1500rms it would be ported because re doesnt suggest you run the subs in a sealed enclosure.

will the size of the yukon affect sub performance in a negative way? i know my 12" L5 sounded great in a small car but i have yeat to hear a similar setup in something as big as a yukon. the only system ive ever heard in a yukon was 2 15" eclipse titaniums on 3000 watts.

in the right box it hits HARD. ive had this setup since 03 believe it or not. had it in my 92 trooper from college, a 04 x5 and now my 07 tahoe. im on my 3rd square tho, but same box. if i remember right the box is 2.5 cu ft. no one thats been in my trucks believes its 1 12. it sounded best in the trooper, but it is louder in the tahoe than the x5. gonna get something new this yr tho, a L7 and maybe a new box.

ya everyone thought i had a 15 because it was loud in my hatch and my doors would flex out. its in the kicker box thats ported and is probably around 2-2.5 cu ft. i think im gonna just pick another one up and run that instead and build a new box.

My audio guy here in ABQ said that if you go with the 15L7 go with a vented box and you'll get cleaner bang for your buck. If you just want to make raw noise then ported is the way to go. My old Suburban had 1 JL 13w7 and a XTANT 1001d Amp and I hit 146.8 on the dB meter. My buddies G35 with the same setup hit 152.0 so the smaller car made a difference but it was clean and powerful in a vented box in both vehicles. Don't know if you want to put up the money for the JL though. They are pricey.
