96 Two Door 6 in lift?

Check out Rough Country 6" kit, it is nice.

A lift will not effect mileage other than more wind resistance...the mileage loss will come from the larger tires with improper gearing.

Brad, I did need a longer drive shaft. Two doors have a very short shaft to begin with. I believe they added about 1". I also upgraded to a CV shaft. That was an adventure of it's own getting the pinion angle correct

Awesome! So it's safe to say that putting a 6" lift on the 2doors is NOT just $1,000. It's more like $2,000 after I replace the driveshafts, front end components, modify the ypipe, buy new shocks, and then get a front end alignment.

Front shaft should be fine, rear shaft can be modified...longer was about $100 at a local driveline shop.

The Rough country kits comes with shocks, brake line and all. Nice kit. The Y pipe does need work but 100-200 at a local place is all. plus the alignment.

Wheels, tires, gears, floor mats, rust proofing. What I'm saying is yes, costs are "hidden" in projects like this. What if all the ball joints are bad? Now's the time for them

I did not have to get a longer driveshaft or modify the y pipe with my lift. I did, however, need a new front cv driveshaft but only because I have the autotrac. Bowtie is correct... the hidden costs do add up. Figure out how much you "think" you can do it for and budget double just for the unknowns.

If you went with a body lift and what you have now, you could in theory get to about 5 inches of lift for cheap. But it wouldn't look right unless it had bigger tires. And bigger tires mean lower mileage as bowtiefreak mentioned. To get back mileage and power you would have to spend another chunk of change on regearing. And to top it off, if you went with anything bigger than a 33" tire it would be preferable that you switch out your 10 bolt rear for a 14 bolt. I'm not trying to be a downer, just trying to give you some insight

that is what im looking at but what if i got the 3 inch with 2 inch bloks and 2 in level?
