Thats why i was thinking of going the used route for the pump and do the module rebuild with module masters. How can you tell if the pumps bad and does that make sense what he said about the pump shorting out and self grounding it self? Would love to avoid the 350 for the pump but also would like to fix this problem
I'm not sure what he's saying makes sense. I can say if that relay in the module goes bad u can have a constant abs pump on. Everyone on here that had this problem fixed had their stock abs module fixed. Either it's reflowing the sautered contacts and/or replacing the relay in the module. Mine was both. I had random abs/brake lights come on and as it got worse my abs pump was on constantly. I'd imagine u could burn the pump up eventually if not fixed. I would try the module first since I believe it's what's actually grounding the abs pump.

Relay in abs module can go bad and cause a constant abs pump on. Happened to mine and I pulled the abs module, sent it to a guy on ebay and no more abs pump issues. Fixed for less than $70. U have random abs/brake lights come on too? I think ur mechanic is off base and about to waste ur money. Haven't seen anyone need to replace an abs pump.

@bottomline2000 Just reading this, thanks great info for all. Mine shorted out and looks like it may have melted some. I didn't realize what was going on until I had a chance to read into this more. It was just a couple days the abs and brake light was on then I tried to replace the abs fuse something got hot from the front. Then smelled and saw smoke. Now it won't start. Checked the pump, its burnt from what I can see bottom of it.

I'm going to send the ecm off to be repaired and I have purchased another pump.

I want to see if I can find a major leak while the module is being repaired.

-Does anyone know if there is a way I can start it without the entire unit being installed and functional?
