Hi all! New to the forum!
I'm racking my brain here trying to isolate this noise.
So I've got a clear alternator whine (changing pitch with rpm change) coming from what I think is the gauge cluster.
Here's what I've done already:
Replaced the alternator, twice, from 2 different auto stores. No change.
Disconnected the speaker harness underneath the console. No change.
Disconnected the main wire from alternator while leaving everything else in tact. -Noise goes away!
So it's definitely coming from inside the cabin. Noise can be heard at all speeds, until drowned out by road noise. It's annoying the crap out of me!
Someone had suggested to check the grounds...but I don't know where to start.
I have a 2007 LTZ 5.3
Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!
