Another oil leak thread

I remember that info from another thread but did not think about that. I am amazed that my 2002 doesn't have any leaks. I park on clean concrete and believe me I look. I have never seen a drop on that concrete. Now, just because I said that I will get up tomorrow and there will be a 1 foot wide spot under there tomorrow. I should keep my big mouth shut. Nah.......I am old. I can get away with saying things that other younger people can't. I love that about getting old.

How many miles on your 2002? Impressive that it doesn’t leak!!

I have 160k on my 02, never a leak. I have replaced the rear main, valley pan and valve cover gaskets as preventative maintenance but they weren’t leaking.

I’m a professional detailer..... of course I did....

<sigh>... Of course you are. The ONE guy I ask, LOL. I *still* have oil in my engine bay. I really need to get it addressed; SO tired of smelling burned oil. FWIW, pretty much had all the seals replaced in May or June, but didn't get the oil cleaned out from the leaks that preceded the work.

Oh it was a pain in the ass! I know. Haha but I’m really OCD about that kind of stuff so I spent an afternoon detailing. But like the first hour was spent degreasing the engine bay. Lol

Aside from the cost -- which is worth it if you get someone good -- I always fear you'll get one of those people that doesn't understand "engine bay" and then will cause me problems down the road. I'm in Texas -- wish you were too.

It’s ironic, I was trained how to properly detail an engine bay and I can do it no problem. But I refuse to touch engine bays on clients vehicles. It’s not super difficult but I just have no desire to take that risk on clients vehicles. So I tell everyone it’s not a service I offer. I only do it on my rig! Lol.
it helps to have a pressure washer for getting down to the lower side of the engine block. I also used my foam cannon on the entire underside of the truck. That got everything clean as well.

As of today, 163,757 miles. There was a seepage at the block off plate, though never any drops on ground, but I fixed that. No oil leaks from anywhere else though. I am the second owner so it may have had oil leaks fixed by previous owner.
