So it may sound silly, but thought to myself how different it would be to convert my rwd Yukon to a manual. It wouldn't be hard to get a clutch pedal assembly from a pickup but to convert over everything else along with making the computer work with it.. probably not worth the headache. Anyone successfully pull this off?

Can't remember if I saw it here or over on PerformanceTrucks, but yes, it has been done before.
Can't find the topic at the moment, but I'm sure a quick Google search will get you some results.

I did Google it, didn't turn up much. It's just a thought. Probably won't make it off the drawing board.

Update: Google confirmed my thoughts... it will take much more effort to successfully convert the Yukon to a manual than its worth. It would be a fun ride, but I would basically have to take the computer, all wiring harnesses and everything that controls the engine/transmission and splice it in. I think they made a 5 so 6.0 in the 2500 line, that would have to be my donor.

If you found a donor pickup with your same engine and year with a manual in it you can do the swap without hacking and splicing. Just take the wiring harness out of the truck along with the trans and other needed mechanical parts and use the whole wiring harness. The only splicing you would need possibly is extending a few plugs here and there. Use the ecm from that truck and would get you rolling again. Then find a shop that does more specific tuning rather than just performance tuning and they can tweek the pickups ecm to match what extra stuff the yukon has in it. Kinda like this guy

He does performance tuning but he also does custom bcm tuning and is capable of adding features and such.
