Arnott shocks

Probably. They used to use bilsteins, and advertised them as such. That being said most monotubes look just like that. They don't make their own shocks... would not surprise me at all if they used a tenneco (Monroe) built shock though

Ah, so their special addition is this:

They have added a built in resistor. Shrug. Not worth it to me over much less expensive bilsteins at all, espcially since you don't really know what shock you are getting. If you are deleting you just unplug the sensor on the shock and tuck it out of the way, disconnect the battery, pull the relay for the autoride, and reconnect the battery and the truck will have no error messages. I've been running mine that way for over a year with no errors.


Thanks. Im not totally deleting the autoride. Im torn on the Arnott AS-2700 (non-electric air shock) or the Monroe 40034 (OE electronic air shock) difference of $50. Leaning towards the Monroe. Fronts Im still deciding on Billy 4600 or Fox 2.0.

Thanks. Im not totally deleting the autoride. Im torn on the Arnott AS-2700 (non-electric air shock) or the Monroe 40034 (OE electronic air shock) difference of $50. Leaning towards the Monroe. Fronts Im still deciding on Billy 4600 or Fox 2.0.
OIC, right.

Resistors will work for the fronts to eliminate the service ride control error. I have been more than happy with my bilstein shocks. No input on fox's personally, but I have heard good things of course there too.

Update for this thread: I finally installed my Arnott AS-2700, front Bilstein 4600 , eBay resistor and Dorman air pump 949-000 on Amazon Yesterday. For only $600

WOW, it rides amazing!!!! Flat in the corners and irregularities, smooth, not harsh, not firm, not too soft. No more sea-sickness from the ride like being on choppy waters at sea. These shocks are a perfect match for eachother. Pump only ran for maybe 2 seconds to air up the shocks on initial start-up, mine did not sag much in the rear, just a little. They still have air as of this morning. Bolts came out with ease, even though the shocks and pump were original at 219k miles. Everything was plug and play, except for wiring the front resistors.

I highly recommend this option for those wondering about replacing or deleting their old Z55 Autoride.

Those are the new Arnott shocks not the "rebuilt" ones? Do you need to do anything with the height sensors at each wheel? Or just wire the resistors into each shock wire?

Yes new PREMIUM, non-electric air shocks. I purchased straight from Arnott since they do not honor warranty of shocks sold at ebay or auction sites, plus they will give you $50 when you ship them your old Delphi rear autoride shocks. The Arnott $600 kit is with their cheap shocks FYI. Height sensors stay since they are needed to know when to inflate the air bags on the shocks. Sensor plugs into built in resistor on the Arnott 2700 shock to fool the computer.

He used resistors on the fronts I believe, since they were Bilstein 4600's. Arnott does sell fronts with the built-in resistors though.
