AutoTap - Set timing?

I want to set timing on my 99 383. I have the AutoTap with the GM Enhanced parameters. From what I can tell I need to look at the "CMP Retard" readings but it says "4080". Anyone familiar with this?

LOL! This is what AutoTap has to say:
There is a scaling error in the software. To get the setting you need, obtain the high and low readings, and then adjust for the average. This will place you within the + or - 2 degrees required. Joe

WTF! I don't get how you can sell a peice of hardware and software with this issue!
Can anyone reccomend a better product?

Do a Google search for ''AutoTap CMP retard'', there are several threads on guys with the same issue with readings in the 4000's. I read through some of them and didn't see a definite solution.

I use an AutoXray 6000
