Let's back to the Truck. If you AWD was not functioning, you would know, you would have codes and really bad noises. With that said, here is the problem with 4WD/AWD. I grew up in Snow Country, and it does not change. AWD/4WD only help you go forward and backwards. They don't help you stop. They all don't help you on ice, although traction control can help. Regarding the Lattiudes, I run them on my wife's ML 550. They are big bucks, and they are ok in the snow, but as one other person said, M/S tires like the Michelin LTX 2 were made for this. On my Denali, that is what I run. You get 70k out of them, Michelins makes a great tire, they go through everything, but remember AWD doesn't help you stop. Hope that close's the loop unless someone else want to slap him one more time...
