I hope that post above makes sense, but even reading it myself I can see how it sounds confusing.

My truck runs and drives fine, I'm simply trying to find out why it refuses to turn off the Stabilitrack and TC and keep them off by using the Stabilitrack button on the AWD shift selector, as that is how it is supposed to work. Mine just flashes the message and light up for 2 seconds then disappears, meaning the Stabilitrack and TC remain ON and will no turn OFF. The TC OFF light is supposed to remain ON if Stabilitrack is successfully turned OFF, but mine does not, meaning Stabilitrack and TC has refused to stay turned OFF.

This is not a major issue for now, but it does mean that something is not functioning properly which could lead to a more difficult problem later.

Gotcha, sorry I'm a little slow sometimes (if you believe my wife, it's all the time).

Hopefully it's just the dang switch, because it's behavior is similar to the part time 4wd versions with the 4 button controller...those seem to crap out often reading this forum.

My first assumption was the same that it was the switch, and why I titled the thread as such and put it in the drivetrain section (probably my mistake and should be electrical section), but at the same time it just doesn't make sense to the way I understood the system to operate. Its why I was nerding out trying to understand when another member was suggesting the forks inside the transfer case, as I couldn't figure out how those affected Stabilitrack or TC when they would go HI and LO no problem. I should have caught it there that I had not been clear enough for those that don't have this type of setup. MY BAD :sorrysign:

The button works, as in I can activate it sucessfully (it is sending a signal), but whatever it is talking to (ECM, PCM, BCM, another separate computer/controller?) is responding to me activating the button (turning Stabilitrack and TC off) by turning Stabilitrack and TC right back on after 2 seconds. In an emergency where I need it off for some reason, I can of course pull the fuse for Stabilitrack and it SHOULD take care of turning it off, but my concern is this is a symptom of something failing. I'd rather not be 200 miles away hauling my trailer when whatever is causing this error in operation to rear its ugly head and put me on the side of the road.

UPDATE:

Neighbor never made it over with his Tech 2, so I went ahead and did some work to the truck anyway that I had been waiting on. Disconnected the battery to pull the pass airbag to replace the actuators in the dash, replaced the 4 of 6 in the truck that were not working correctly or at all (driver blend, pass blend, recirc, and rear blend), as well as a bad impact sensor, and replaced a leaking o-ring under the rear a/c. Charged system back up, and did the reset to the HVAC per the instructions from the manual, and now only 2 of 6 aren't working right and didn't move during the reset (pass blend and recirc, the two "fun" ones). May be time for a new main control. While I was sitting there enjoying some nice ice cold a/c, I figured I would try the switch button again since I had had the battery disconnected for a couple hours (yes, hours, those two actuators in the dash are a *****...). Well. Stabilitrack and TC now shut off and stay off exactly as they should, so whatever was causing the problem was reset and functioning correctly for now. Hopefully I'll have a Tech 2 myself before whatever was causing the issue returns.
