best at/off road tires

what up guys. shopping for some new rubber . just wanted some opinions on what you run or ran on your hoe also what i should look for and or stay away from. once again thanks for the input .

Really like the BFG A/T I have on. I have noticed a drop in traction but I have had them for a while and would get another set

This fall I rented a 2010 Tahoe Lt for a trip out West to Wyoming. The truck had about 30k miles on it and Goodyear Wrangler HP OEM tires on the standard 17" rims. I put on 4000 miles overall for the trip and had 2 flats. The flats happened on maintained gravel numbered county roads in Wyoming (in fact the same road within a few miles of each other). Neither of the flats could be repaired so new tires were required. These tires should not be used for even gravel roads, let alone off-road applications. The US Bureau of Land Management agent in that area of WY told me they switched all their vehicles to 10-ply equivalent tires to fix the flat problem.

When I finally do buy my Yukon with 20's or 22's, then I am also going to buy a set of 17" wheels with 10-ply tires for my trips out West.

Good information. You could also put a lift under that Hoe and put some 35's on her and I'm pretty sure the gravel roads would be taken care of.

Trail Grapplers are a great tire. Meaty, hearty, quiet for a M/T. I recommend them to everyone.

I ran super swamper trxus m/t's on my H2 after experimenting with nittos, mickey thompsons, and bfgoodrich over the years and all those were a/t tires. But wouldn't you know that to my suprise I get theses off a recomendation from the hummers assoc of america members and they lasted almost 50k miles and were more quiet then all the a/ts and they look bad in my opinion. But that's my opinion.

I put 45,000 miles on a set of Pro comp EXtreme AT. Just make sure that you rotate them religiously and they will last. I just switched my Suburban over to a full time offroad monster and went with Dick Cepek Mud Country which are also an awesome tire. If you want to save a little cash Pro comp is made by cooper tires. look up cooper tires and you can match the tread patterns and order them with the Cooper name on them.

I have general grabber at2's on my '05. I really like them. They have a very similar tread pattern to the bfg all terrains. They ride very smooth and are amazing in the snow. I have never taken them off road, though. I have had 2 different guys come up to me at the gas station and ask me about them, so I guess they look pretty nice.

cooper discovery's STTs are nice alittle loud but great of the road. i hear the AT discoverys are nice too
