It's on the back side of the motor under the intake. People will try and tell you that you can't get to it with out taking off the intake, but I did it on my 2002 suburban many years ago. It is a pita though.

Alrighty. So a little update to Crack the old cranium on. New battery and it's down to only showing cylinder 6 misfire instead of a random.
I noticed this change after my sub/amp addition.
Could it be suckin too much juice to properly ignite at detonation?

How big of an amp are you running? Are you using a cap?

I'll have to check when I get home. I have a cap but my lights still dim when the bass hits.

All this and you have not yet looked at STFT or LTFT? Check your trims. They tell you tons if you know how to read them. What are your STFT and LTFT at idle, engine up to temp, fuel system in closed loop?

P0300 is a Random Misfire code usually meaning 3 or more cylinders have been missing.

P0430 is Bank 2 Low Catalyst Efficiency (measured by Bank 2 downstream O2).

If I had to guess based on only the info you have provided thus far, I'd presume a lean condition on bank 2 causing all of those cylinders to misfire thus allowing raw fuel into the exhaust consequently killing your bank 2 cat.

For a lean condition I'd be looking at the intake gasket sucking in unmetered air on the bank 2 side.

Also, these trucks don't "have a thing for AC DELCO." AC DELCO makes the OEM electronics for GM. So AC DELCO is factory equipment which the engineers intended for these vehicles to use.

Wow... chill out lol
Anyways yeah I used to have cylinder 6 and 8 misfire. Now it's only saying 6 which has new coil, wire and plug. Intake gasket passed compression test, no leaks anywhere.

Chill out? Why do you say that? All I did was answer your questions lol.

Also, compression test does nothing to check the integrity of the intake gaskets. You need to check fuel trims and/or smoke the intake systm.

like SLCHOE said: a smoke test will help find air leaks to confirm if u do or dont have any. and once that test is done scratch it off the list.
MY MISFIRE STORY:
P0300 was the only code ....i had to run through the misfire diagnosis check list about 3 times till i fully diagnosed my misfire.
during the crank relearn i tore up the pistons during diag and thought that bad ring job was the only issue. it was the problem but not the cause.
pulled the motor and sent it to the machine shop, put it back in and on the first start up it had the misfire so i turned it off and went back to misfire diag check list.
after scratching my head for a few days and not wanting to start the new motor to check for a cause i went with visual inspections and hooked the scanner up and looked at the PIDs i could with out letting the fresh motor run too long.

i noticed the pass O2 mV readings were both 450mV.... at that point i decided to pull Bank2 Senor 1 to bench test it....it tested good with nice smooth/fast wave forms , so b4 i put it back in i thought to myself that maybe i should fire the motor up with the sensor out to verify if i do or dont have a clogged cat!

fired it up with Bank2 Sensor1 O2 out and monitored the misfire counter and finally had ZERO in cylinders! that was a huge relief for me. got new cats and O2's and now im back on track!

hope this story helps you or some1 else!
DONT GIVE UP!!!! you'll find the cause, best of luck to u
Tony

Not at a computer atm but omfg I solved it. I solved the misfire. Wanna know what it was? Of course you do! My alternator was on its way out. It died on me today. Swapped it out for a rebuilt one. And BAM gone. Can't recreate it.
