Best way to shop insurance is to ask the owner of an auto body shop. They are the ones that are impacted by all the red tape and can get you a true [emoji519] for [emoji519] comparison and price per pound of bs.
I’ve had AAA since I could drive. They have changed to lower service in order to keep up with the competition and ever changing laws. They make huge mistakes however ... they are accountable and make it right.
In the last two claims in a ten year period where our VW was rear ended, they flagrantly devalued the car, attempted to state no parts were available, flat out lied about the shop stating they were refusing to do certain repairs and told me I could not self source parts.
They also told the DMV I was uninsured which led to my license being suspended “by accident “. All that nonsense revealed a damage claim they denied almost four years ago which should have been paid for. They pretty much repainted the entire vehicle and ate crow.
Fast forward another four years and they wrongly refused to correct broken motor mounts, cracked exhaust, blown lift gate struts and a melted bumper cover from said broken exhaust. It’s all documented as damage from collision, not repaired and denied. They’re going to eat that too as I have all ppwk showing it was all recently replaced.
They’d rather quietly pay to make it right after the dust settles than face the consequences of multiple, consistent, ongoing failures to show they blatantly refused to cover repairs. Essentially they leveraged themselves into accountability moving forward through a pattern of neglect in the past via ppwk trail.
