I would like to get some suggestions on how I should go about blacking out the grill surround on my tahoe. I have often used plasty dip for my bow ties but I think I want to step it up to something that looks a little nicer and would possibly last longer. This is what I have now versus what I would like to end up with. I've grown tired of the chrome and I feel it would be best for me to go all color matched. So what have you guys used to do this? image.jpegimage.jpeg

If you want to remove the bow-tie and go with an all mesh black grille, do something like this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-MESH-FRONT-HOOD-BUMPER-GRILL-GRILLE-ABS-2007-2014-TAHOE-SUBURBAN-AVALANCHE-/400790707759?fits=Model:Tahoe|Submodel:LTZ) can't speak for quality since it's eBay, but I'm sure you can find more quality ones elsewhere. Could go this route if you wanna keep bow-tie (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Tahoe-Suburban-Avalanche-07-14-Front-Mesh-Gloss-Black-Hood-Bumper-Grill-/232057556261?fits=Model:Tahoe|Submodel:LTZ) also from eBay, could probably find them elsewhere for better quality.

This may do the trick. Its cheap enough that I can give it a try and if it ends up being crap I can at least report back to others on it here. Might as well go painted billit bowtie while I'm ordering the thing. Thanks for the input!

So it finally showed up today. And its chrome..... They're already closed for the day so will have to call the place tomorrow. I double checked my order and I did select the black finish so they f'ed up on their end. What a pain in the ass.

Damn, sorry to hear that. Let's hope it's an honest mistake and they make it right. The black one actually looks really good, I like how it's glossy black and not matte like so many of the cheap grill surrounds.
