I just bought a beautiful 2006 Yukon xl Denali with 56k one-owner miles on it - the only downside is that she smoked. It's been cleaned and detailed well - but it's still there. I did a search and didn't see any previous topics (though I'm new and am clearly capable of f'ing that up) - anyone have suggestions for ridding my new ride of the funk?

Bucket of hot water (3-4 gallons) 1 tbsp bleach and about 2-4 tbsp of pinesol place in truck close windows and doors let sit overnight also if you can shampoo floors and I'm assuming since its a Denali you have leather so a good wipe down will do but not with bucket above^^^^.This method worked for me on several cars.

i also bought a used truck from a smoker. What i did was give it a good interior cleaning. used lexol products to clean and condition leather & dash. Make sure to clean windows too with a nice cleaner. Change your interior cabin filter if your truck has one. Buy a can of OZIUM & spray it all over your car and vents. Turn the heater on full blast with recirculating air and let the car run for several minutes like that. bought some gel air freshers from target and the ride has been smelling pretty good so far.

I read some people suggest putting an old rag in a bowl of vinegar and leave in your car for a while. i never tried it, so if you do let me know if it works?

they work wonders. I use them a lot on cars when I detail them. Last time I used one a customers Escalade was stole (dumb broad left the keys in the ignition) any way a couple of guys took off in it and went joy riding all night, must have smoked a pound of weed in her truck cause that ***** was stankin, lol. They got so high they forgot to take there Webbie CD out before they bailed, lol. Anyway Dakota Odor Bomb brought that truck back to life.

Some of the detail shops will do an "ozone" treatment for more money. Dont know if it works or not, never tried it.

Maguires makes an awsome odor eliminator, plus You should deffinatly replace the cabin filter. Look in to a duct cleaner as well when replacing the filter.

I'm a noob to the tahoes, However in my previous truck I used the ol vinegar in a bowl trick. It worked wonders and for what little was left I used ADAM'S brand carpet and upholstery cleaner on the headliner. No one ever knew it was a previous smokers truck.
