How long do the pads really last? I have a 2004 yukon slt, approx 110k miles and still the original rotors and pads. And the pads are still not worn down

Rear pads? I haven't heard of front pads lasting that long. I have seen some vehicles go 80-90000 on originals but they are normally beat when I take them off.

Rear pads are original. They are not completely worn down yet. But there is a groove on one of the rear rotors now

My 2003 Tahoe just had the front rotors and pads replaced a last summer. I had 143K on them and they still had life on them. My rears pad were replaced at 80K and the rotors cut. I just had the rear rotors replaced and new pads put on back in February. I was really surprised on the life I got with the pads/rotors. I guess I should mention the Tahoe for the first 6 years of ownership was used predominatley for highway driving, mostly to and from work.

It seems like the OEM compound lasts a long time. My rears are almost done, fronts are fine. I also assume if you do lots of highway driving they should go a lot longer since they get used less.

I ended up changing all rotors and pads with a powerstop kit slotted and cross drilled. Probably still had 40-50% left on original pads but it was starting to pulsate while braking.
