What size is the brake line? The lines own our yd were severely pitted and missing. I brought the front section where it comes out of the abs module and was giving 5/16 line with fittings. i was able to get it into abs module and back to the rear splitter but in the process i noticed the fitting in the rear is a different size?

I just picked up a 02 Tahoe last night which needed a power steering pump. Got that changed out today and on my test drive, the rear left brake line broke somewhere above the gas tank. Is this a common issue with these trucks? Instead of dropping the tank, I'm just going to run an entirely new line from master to caliper, on the outside of the frame rail. Should I be concerned with the other lines going bad?

My '04 Tahoe brake lines ruptured due to corrosion on the way home in the driving snow a few weeks back. I was approaching a traffic circle going about 35 or so and the ABS kicked on which I think was the tipping point for the brake lines.

I just wanted to chime in and encourage you folks who live where the roads are salted (or drive on the beach) to inspect the brake lines on their Tahoes/Yuks and maybe even Subs.

GM makes a kit which is nice - but a letter warning folks would be even nicer as the mechanic that fixed it said he'd done a few complete brake line replacements recently (even on newer models) after complete blowout. Someone is going to get hurt!
