Brake line replacement. Bleeding and abs box

Hello all im looking at doing the brake lines on a 2003 tahoe . Is there a trick to not getting air into the abs module. Or a good way to bleed it all out. I have read about it being a problem. Thank you

It's a problem (bleedding) even when you don't change all that stuff out. I had less than standard brakes for several years on my '02 Z71... I finally got a Tech2 and what a difference that made. Highly recommend for the ABS and Master bleed. "Just" a matter of keeping air out when you pop the lines off the module. Appropriate sized rubber plugs can help minimize fluid loss when disconnecting the lines from the module.

only tip i have is to not let the master run dry, dont take a line off till you got the new one ready to go on, if for some reason you get stuck in the middle of swapping one, have some way to cap the open line so it dont leak, vac line caps, vac line with a bolt to seal it off, anything to keep the fluid in the lines.

No way around it. You will get air in everything, especially the ABS valve body. Plan on having access to a bi directional scanner like the Tech2 to do an auto bleed.

I recently replaced the front brake lines on my 06 Suburban. I did one at a time, then replaced/bled the brake fluid.

I sucked out the old fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster gizmo, then filled with fresh fluid. I went around flushing/bleeding each wheel until clear fluid ran out. I bought that Motive bleeder, but couldn't get it to work, so I had teenager son pump the brakes while I watched the fluid. I also did it with the engine running, not sure if that's actually supposed to be done like that? I did the same to my 99 Silverado and our 2013 Chrysler minivan since neither had the brake fluid replaced.

TBH, I didn't even remember about the abs module needing purging until now...I do have a scanner that does that.
