They’re not that much better and they’re noisy as all get out. Not a good trade when all he’s asking for is to reduce the dust, which is probably because someone put some cheapo pads on it.

Yes, not looking for noise either.
Just looked up the record and the pads are Raybestos Element 3 Brake Pads EHT1363H. Reads like hybrid of ceramic and semi-metallic. Got them because they had a kit with their rotors included.

OEM part number lookup by Vin, not just any ACDelco that fits. Big difference in the sound department…

To continue, VIN search on GM (not AC Delco) parts dealers that all seem to link to the same database, brings up one choice of pads and you noted but they are "discontinued" without substitution reference.
