Really it shouldn't be too difficult. My dad just changed his pads on his 02 Silverado. Basically take the wheel off, remove the caliper (torx bits) and then the rotor should slide right off, then do everything backwards for reassembly.

Don't forget your jack stands (might save a leg or arm from getting smashed)

luckily these trucks do not have the rotor being one piece with the hub. those are a pain. not difficult just a pain.

i resurfaced the rotors and bought new brake pads but now on my way to work i can hear a loud squeaking what can this be ? Did i put the brake pads upside down ? Each brake pad had a metal thing at the end of it i put that side down was it supposed to go on the top ?

put some pad grease on the back side of the pads or just wait for the pads to seat on the rotors. you cant put the pads upside down.

i did add greese to the brake pads. Here is a pic of the pad that i used the the clip im talking about, That clip has at the bottom on both pads for each side. I thought its only supposed to be one pad for each side that has that clip

I dont usually resurface my rotors. If I buy a set from autozone with a warranty, I just replace em with new ones. worse comes to worse pull the wheels and spray some brake cleaner on the rotor face and pads or try to swap em around a bit. Those clips are indicators for when the pads are low, maybe one is pinched. IIRC, the clip should be on the outside pad only.

I sprayed a whole can on each side before and after i installed brake pads and rotors hehehe so iuno im going to have to pull the tires off and recheck it when i get home. Does it matter if i just brake off those clips ?
