What symptoms and or problems would be fixed by clean the after market cool air/ mass air intake filter when I got it and looked under hood it's filthy

Cleaning the mass airflow sensor could help with idle quality. And changing the filter out would be good to do after you clean the mass airflow sensor. Unless you’re having idle problems, then these two items are mostly just maintenance.

I'm. pretty sure this is a cone filter clamped onto the maf. not cleaning the inside sensor filiment. that's why I asked for pics

It's a cone filter K&N I'll take pics in the AM for you all thanks for all the responses!
