I have a 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate with the Duramax diesel. Just love it. It replaced a 2022 Yukon Denali with the 6.2L. 6.2L was great but I like the diesel much better. Mileage is incredible at 27 MPG average so far. I expect it will get better once it's broken in. Drove it to Florida on I75 average speed of 75 MPH and was getting around 27 MPG. Can't beat that! Very quiet and powerful especially in hilly terrain. Engine torque is great! We love our Yukon, so much better than the previous generation.I am going to check out a new Suburban tomorrow, lowest trim (LS), diesel. Is there any reason to not get it, assuming I can get it for around MSRP? I like the Z71 but they are impossible to find. Can I just put some AT tires on it and good to go? This one has the 20 inch wheel option already applied. I am willing to replace the wheels too with 18 or 17 or whatever is more reasonable if needed.
I'm coming from 25 years of owning gas Z71 Silverados so this will be quite a change. I have always wanted a Suburban though. I am going to either just put all the seats flat and throw a full size mattress back there or maybe take the seats out and build a platform. The back seats will probably never be used.
I spend a lot of time in the snow in Tahoe in the winter. In summer I tow a 3500 lb boat 3-4 days a week about half an hour each way to the water.
If I don't get this I am also looking at maybe a Ford Expedition Max. $10k more for heated/cooled seats and a way nicer screen/dash and leather. Not as nice looking as the Suburban.
Neither one has the good cruise control or auto hold or any good tech really. Kind of annoying since all the foreign cars have all that on every trim.

You have something wrong with your engine as this is not normal for this diesel. My son has one of the early 3.0L diesels with lots of miles on it and it's very quiet, clean burning and economical. My Yukon 3.0L gets an average of 8.5L/100KM and my son consistently gets around 9.0 L/100KM one his GMC 1500 pickup. Both engines are clean burning, quiet, economical and powerful.Not happy with my 21 Tahoe diesel
Smelly and the gas consumption is not as good as advertised
It is great only on highway
I am getting 12.5L/100km combined
I was expecting better
But main concern is the Tahoe became too noisy when it is idealing and dealer doesn’t do anything about it

The button controls the distance at which it will alert you that you’re following too close. When turned on a little green car icon will show in the upper LH corner of the cluster. When you’re following too close it will change to orange and alert you based on your gap setting. Congrats on the new rig!One funny thing is it has the following gap settings even though it doesn't have adaptive cruise. So the settings do nothing apparently. Kind of weird but whatever.
