it happens a lot around here, what they recommend is welding some rebar to it, not sure what that does it either makes it noisy as hell and/or slows them down.
the etching can usually be done for free but that does no good if the buyer is not playing fair.
as for cutting them open to get the contents out, these idiots are pet rock smart they don't have the chemicals and processing equipment to make any money out of the guts.
the typical cat thief is a 18-25 year old "homie" that is it out on rotation, but there are a few older "homies" that get out on circulate again from time to time.
