[QUOTE="cmm221, post: 968360, member: 354 adass! ive got to do this mod myself![/QUOTE]

It was hard finding the right lights and where to mount them. But if I had to do it again it would be easy. Thats why I wanted to do a detailed write up for others.

Nice job. My '02 Denali has a light inside the center console with a switch that turns it on when you open the console so it may be possible to use GM parts instead of the VW parts you used. I replaced the bulb with a LED one also when I converted the interior lights to LED. It's a smaller housing than the one you used but provides plenty of light.

Yea I saw that before. Denali and esky came with lights and a cigarrete lighter from the factory built into the center console cubby. I would have to get a different inner cubby piece to make all that fit. and because of the design the esky and yukon have way less storage room because of it. So thats why I used my stock piece. Plus I didn't know this till couple days ago after I did all this work lol
One piece not a gm piece is fine with me. But only one is allowed lol.

Got the exact look I was going for. Wanting a small amount of light possible to show when closed so passengers know where to grab for cup holders or charging port. When closed its not super bright or annoying the passengers. Even when open its facing down and still a very subtle light effect.

Glad its finished. Moving on to next mod.

Ok on to the next piece.
Was going to put a usb/aux plug in the glove box but instead put the plug in the old location of the cigarette lighter on the dash (which is now in the center console).

So since I had that dash piece out I figure I would add yet another light. Using the same 194 housing that I used for the cup holders (2013+ impala/malibu trunk light)

Made my cuts accordingly

And let there be light...and all that stuff lol. Wasnt sure how bright it would be and it turned out just right. Not distracting at all. Again going for that factory look and it worked :)
