Replaced the front shocks and struts today. Wasn't near as bad as I thought.

Used a 18mm socket and two extension rods for the 3 bolts on top. Then used a 15mm socket for the 2 bolts below. Coated all of them with wd40 to loosen up the rust and dirt first.

Push down on the control arm a little and push the bottom of the shock towards the engine and it will pop out. Tilt it and it should slide out easily.

Take the two clips for the bolts off the old shock and attach to the new one and slide it back in place. I tightened the bottom bolts first, then the top as when I did the opposite, I couldn't line up the bottom bolts holes. Tighten all nuts and bolts and you are good to go. Remember to put the wire loom back on as well.

Both sides did have broken sway bar end links so I had to replace both of those as well. I had to use the jack to raise up the lower control arm to get it close enough to fit everything in place, but it worked out well. The hardest part of that was the nuts were stuck in place and the plastic sleeve tore apart. I had to cut the bolt on the passengers side to get it off.

So I have driven it for a few days now. Definitely rides nicer, honestly biggest improvement that I notice is the sway bar end links.... Never realized they were broke, but turning and cornering is so much better.

Been thinking about renting spring compressors for the rear and taking out the 1" spacer. I've been wanting lower lately and to curb my itch, this might help.

How is this a build thread when all it is is worn out parts being replaced?

Kids these days
