The chrome on My passenger door handle on the inside is just pealing right off. Anybody else have this problem? It only has 55k miles on it.

Join the club. I think you can get it replaced under warranty.

Yup! Mine were becoming razor sharp. Three of mine were really bad, the other was okay. I took it in to my local dealer (they have good service) about two months ago now, and told them all 4 handles were peeling and razor sharp, and that I wanted them replaced. They ordered them that day, and I came back the next to have them done. It took about an hour. The service guy said that they were done under some service bulletin, not actually a warranty or recall. I believe they will cover your handles (on the 2007 Tahoes at least) up to 10 years, or 100,000 miles.

The new handles are nice and smooth. Someone just got cheap in the first production of these things :idiot:

Yes, they do this for free. It is covered under some special bulletin. I bought my Tahoe used, and out of warranty and they still covered it with no cost out of my pocket.

I find it ironic that Chevy will cover the Tahoe for this problem but not the Cobalt.

07Z71hoe,

I encourage you to take a trip to your local Chevrolet dealership to confirm if they will replace them.

Thank you,

Anybody know anything about the service bulletin for sure? Am I SOL if over 100,000 miles?

I have included a picture of the letter 2007 Tahoe owners should have gotten from GM. Another member, I can't remember if here or on another forum, had posted this. I saved myself a copy, because I bought my '07 used and didn't get the letter. I had it just in case, but I never needed it. My dealership knew exactly what the problem was, and they didn't ask any other questions. They just fixed the issue at hand.

As for being over 100,000 miles - I really don't know. I suppose it depends on how far over, and if you have a good relationship with your local dealer. I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask!

If I cut my fingers off can I sue?

Possibly! But it would cost you more for a lawyer then what you would get out of GM :Frustrated:
