Everything is holding up fine, and the front end is great... im not really sold on the rear yet, and even thinking I may still go back up to stock height or lifted. Still glad I did the conversion though, bc if I do raise it up, I can just sell my lowering stuff and use longer coilovers up front

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, stay low only way to go lol. Your very true in your statement that you could go up with different parts. I would try new springs out back, or thicker sidewall tire, you should be able to improve the ride but its still a lowered truck at the end of the day, things you gotta do to make it look good and always turn back and look at it as you walk away!

That feeling is long gone for me ----- Unless someone elses is driving it and then im like Dang, thats a good looking tahoe.

Dont raise it up, we will help you out with the rear b/c mine is kind of rough in the rear as well. I think its the shocks.

Do yours make a compression sound over bumps? LIke enough to hear it while driving?

Oh I still have to turn and look everytime I get out, but the problem for me is that it really takes away the fun of driving. I drove it 450 miles last wed and on friday when it was time to go pick up the car, we rented a small car to make the drive... partly bc it was cheaper on gas, but a major driving factor there was that taking the burb that far made for a VERY long, exhausting drive

This thing was our family vacation machine and everyone just LOVED how smooth it was... now it sucks and no one wants to ride in it. I absolutely love the way it looks right now, and I've always been a lifted kind of guy, but these things look just plain awesome sitting low on big wheels. Im just not sure I can take the harsh ride anymore

How low were you before you dropped it w/ coil overs?

Or i guess my question is how did it ride before this setup w/ coil overs & shocks all around? Still rough or not as bad? Keep changing the shock settings. I have changed mine everyday one click and drive it for the day to see all terrains. It has really improved the ride since i have done that. Not sure where i am at now though.

WHy is the ride bad now?

The ride has been bad since I lowered it about 18 months ago. Ive been messing with it ever since to try to get it dialed in. Thats why I had given up and was gonna get a new rig. This coil over swap got my attention and I mistakenly thought it was gonna somehow get back to riding real good overnight and boy was I wrong. The front is not a problem anymore, its all in the rear... idk if springs would do it any good at all, and im really not sure I want to keep tweaking just to find out

I mean mines 4/6 right now and I live in mass roads suck balls and my ride is terrible I mean having lowered keys suffers the ride in the front. Front is little harsh depending road. I've loaded my truck up with 3 adults 4 kids 3 hockey bags and made 500 mile trip and truck was a good ride. Few bumps at 75 the rear didn't like(my fault didn't have air in my bags). I mean there's gotta be something we can do for your rear if you say the fronts good now. My .02.

This is my first lowered ride, I've always had lifted rigs. I guess I could try some new rear springs for a couple hundred and see what happens... the biggest problem is on roads that have cracks or sections cut every couple hundred ft, its just a constant barrage... then even after I got my sway bar links replaced, it still rocks back and forth pretty good on the highway if I hit a string of 2 or 3 bumps in a row

Ah gotcha, so its not since you lowered it w/ the coil overs & shocks. Well i'll say my ride was terrible in the front & rear before the coil overs. So i understand that, but that comes with lowering these things. Ride suffers going this low & low pros. (even mine w/ 50 series)
I will say after some miles & tweaking, the rear seems to be a problem on mine as well. I honestly think its the QA1 rear shocks. Just keep messing with the settings on them to softer. Thats what ive been doing. (see my thread, doing a review again.)

Wow, if you had 3 adults and hockey stuff and rode fine, then your are quite the lucky one. I say this b/c i went somewhere w/ family all adults 6 plus me and it rode like crap. The shocks were bottomed out, no movement every bump in the road was felt big time. Niece in the back bounced up so far she hit the roof on bumps. That does not happen now nor anywhere near it, but you are lucky if you had a good ride.

I have no bags in the rear. Might be an idea though - How about that blkout? Do you have bags in the springs? I might try them out and see.

NOW by no means does it ride like a caddy. I have lowered all my cars and trucks and understand you loose a little comfort for handling. I think the rear rides good for being lowered SUV. The front tho is very harsh, why I'm converting over to the coil overs i know its gonna improve the ride!

With the rear having bags let me tell you. I can tell a difference when i have no air in them and it changes the ride even with just 3 psi. 10 psi is nice ride as well lifts rear a little tho. Ive always had 35 psi in them to pull my 19ft bowrider boat which it towed great.

blackout- i hear you on the sections of the road or cuts its just a bang, even my work truck does the same thing as my lowered rig they just suck. ha. Now when you say its sways is it just body roll or does it walk over the road. Cause with my 22's i have hit a bad section of highway and it kinda jittered/walked a little if that make sense......wide tire's also cause a rougher ride...

I got bags, and usually ride with about 10lbs in them. Im not giving up just yet, but im just trying to be realistic with how things are feeling for me
I tweaked the rear 3 clicks softer tonight and it seemed to be alot better, but the cracks on my street still bug me... I remember the reason I turned up the settings in the front was bc it felt less likely to bottom out the shock, but I think now that I have Andrew's prototype bushings, that will no longer be an issue. I still NEED to get my camber kit installed and properly align this thing but it tracks straight and no vibrations or anything. Im gonna take another click out of the rear in the morning and see how that goes for a few days
