From the looks of your display I'd say you had the same problem that I did but reflowing the solder did the trick for mine as well as a few other guys that I've passed the info on to! And I assume that you are reflowing the solder joints on each side of the 4R3's ( 6 joints total), correct? Yes, if it was me, I would reflow all 6 of the joints yet again and when it's said and done it should be a pretty smooth transistion from the solder to the resistor if you do it right ( really no questionable line like you are seeing on the one on the left resistor like it's a crack).
Hope that make sense, keep throwing out the questions if you have anymore!

Yes, all 6 joints. I will try it again in the morning. Thanks for the help. I'll update after retrying.

Air temp can effect the LCD display.

So far we've been in it from 42 to 68 degrees. I know that a cold solder joint can break connection with temp changes. I hadn't really thought about temps directly effecting the display. But with the range we've had it in (including today sitting in the driveway with the sun hitting the windshield directly...still no joy.

Completely agree with you, but since I did the resoldering its been the same brightness at all the temps we've had since the fix! 100 degrees down to just recently in the teens, as you have experienced as well fellow Oregonian! Does your go dim at all livingez_123?

Only at night and when it's below 20°
it's been real cold here the last week

Update; I pulled the mirror again and reflowed the 6 joints. There is still no change in the mirrors digital display. During the bright daylight, when you turn on the key, the mirror instantly goes dark. Other vehicles I have owned with the auto dim feature on the mirror, were clear (like a regular mirror) but would darken at night when bright lights were shinning from behind. Should my mirror work the same way?

Again, still trying to find a fix. I really appreciate all the input...I just hate that I have not reached a resolution. :)

Yeah, but the compass/temp display should stay the same brightness even at night (at least mine does). Sorry man, wish I could help you more but mine got fixed from the 6 solder joints! Could always reflow all the joints but not sure if that will help or hurt your mirror more!
