Cooling System Not Pressurizing

That's from a few hrs driving on and off.

You should be able to find it if you pressurize the system. Grab a harbor freight coolant system tester. With a leak like that I can't imagine system not to be dropping pressure

Or rent one from Autozone when u bring it back you get the money back there's are pretty decent

did you look at the water pump weep hole?

Buddy who did the swap checked it out today. Said one of the factory hose clamps on a heater core hose coming off the water pump didn't look like it was good, so he replaced it. We pressurized the system and it held for a few minutes. So.... I let it idle for awhile, hoses we're soft, took it for a nice ride, system still didn't pressurize. Doesn't overheat, doesn't run hot. I don't get it. Heat works great too. He's gonna change the thermostat this weekend.

Changed out the thermostat with another one, and still having the same problem. Now instead of being between 160 and 210, now it's running at 210. Not overheating, but running warmer then it was.

Thats right where my 03 Tahoe 5.3L runs once it warms up and thermostat opens up and settles.

But your system is pressurized when it does. Mine still isn't pressuring. Just strange.

Did you happen to check or replace the cap? It's the only thing left if you pressurized the system and it was holding with no leaks

The seal looks good on it and I don't see any cracks, but still a good idea. I'm gonna price it out. Thx
