Could I drill here and create an opening?

I’m wanting an opening to run the usb cable through so that I can still shut the drawer. Would I be ok drilling a couple of holes in the locations below to run the cable through just to hide it and gain access to closing the door?

The holes would be large enough to fish the USB connector through?

I believe the side piece that your left arrow is pointed to just pulls off then run wire behind it and bring into cup area to usb.

Yeah if I used a large enough drill bit. I could just use a USB-C cable so I wouldn't need it to be very large.

Instead of going to the left, I'd think of going forward, behind/underneath, the media screen, then make a 180 degree turn, and below that padded 'curved' trim piece ( In photo, where that wire is nearly touching.

So, no hole through your left-side- lower panel. Maybe ?

what is the cable for? there is a million ways to do it without drilling or making a hole in anything

Just slapping a masonry bit in the old kobalt and lettin ‘er rip .. I think you may be disappointed with the end results on such a refined looking vehicle. Be different if we were talking about a GMT800 or something, not a 100k truck. Plus, sounds to me like you’re still going to have exposed wires even after drilling, so not sure how practical the route to the end goal is.

personally, i would rather just pull the trim pieces and stick it behind the trim up until the point of the dash mount itself. If i had to drill anywhere, I would probably want to do it somewhere that isn’t visible normally, such as within the console itself leading to behind the dash trim imo
