I have done some searching and read everything that I could find on my questions but just wanted to maybe get some definite answers so any help is appreciated.

I purchased a CCM 2.5/1 kit. I am wanting to put on 305/55R 20 (cooper zeon LTZ) and I was looking at getting rims with an offset of 18mm (XD Monster) While I'm not sure of the offset on my stock 17's I am wondering if this will work. I am assuming I will have to do some trimming but my question is how much trimming? I don't really want to have to trim metal.

Not sure on the offset...but please get some pics when you get it done. Been wanting to see the Coopers in that size!

SW CT,
you will have to trim metal with that size tire unless you get a +30 offset. the +18 offset pushes the tires out a little over stock and there lies the issue.

I think I am going to go with the xd monster with the 35mm offset. I am hoping they will look good and not sit in too far. Stock offset is 31mm from what I have gathered so that would put these in about .16" further than stock. However with the wider wheel and tire hopefully it will look good and everything will work out with as little trimming as possible. Anyone running a wheel with a +35mm offset on a new body style? Just would like to see what it looks like.

If I get the +35mm offset wheels how much trimming will be involved and do you think that I will have to trim/remove the front air dam? Also if I dive into this switching from 17" to 20" with bigger/heavier tires is there anything I need to worry about or change as well so I don't damage my vehicle. I just want to do this right.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

SW CT,
I think that if you go with the +35 offset you are going to rub on the swaybar. If you do not want to trim any metal then do not go with 305/55/20's. You can do 275/60/20's which are basically the same height as the 305's but are 11 or so inches wide instead of 12.8. Or if you want some width look at 285/55/20 or 305/50/20. I would stick with the +18 offset it helps with the stance of the truck. And no you should not have to trim/cut the front airdam.
I'll attach a pic of my 2500 burban with 305/55/20's, it sits much higher than the 1500's stock vs. stock.

Hmmm....not sure what to do here??? Wish I knew for sure if the +35mm would rub the sway bar.

InTruck knows what he is talking about. I would take his advice...he has done a few of these.

I believe that he is very knowledgable just from lurking around the site that is why I am bombarding him with rookie questions. I really want to do the 305/55R20 with some KMC XD wheels. So by the sounds of it I need to get the +18mm offset. InTruck can you help me out with the extent of what will need to be trimmed. I want it to look nice and be fully functional as it is actually my wife's daily driver. I would PM you but I don't have enough posts yet. Also is there anything I need to worry about as far as damaging the vehicle in the long run by switching to bigger/heavier wheels and rims?

Well I am just going to dive in I think. The level kit should be here Monday and I will be ordering the wheels and tires on Monday as well. I am going to go with KMC Monster 20x9 +18mm with 305/55R 20 Terra Grapplers. I was going to go with trail grapplers but this is my wife's vehicle and the one we use all the time so the trail grapplers aren't as practical. Also I can get the Terra's in what they call an extra load tire vs an E load range thus hopefully making it ride better.

Here is a pic of how she looks now, just got the windows tinted yesterday. It's going to look a lot different hopefully by the end of next weekend!

I would like to get the trim piece around the grill painted white as well. I wonder how much it would cost. I assume it could be sanded down and painted?....
