Hey fellas! So sorry for the LONG delay in updating this thread! My summer has been action packed with work related issues and the unexpected accelerated timeline for my wife and I taking the plunge to buy our first family home! We have been renting for years trying to save to do this and had planned to wait until next spring to pull the trigger BUT our landlord decided he wanted to move back into his house that we are renting sooooooo we are now building a new construction home up in NH. Just signed the contract and put down the deposit this morning!
Anyways, the Escalade has not been neglected, it's just that a lot of the work I'd planned to do myself on it I ended up being forced to pay to have my Dad's trusted mechanic do it all for me to get it off my plate! I'll get pictures up tonight but he did the following for me:
- full brake system overhaul (hard lines, soft lines, calipers, rotors and pads)
- flushed all fluids (brakes, p/s, Tcase, trans, rear diff)
- T/A rear diff girdle upgrade (clearanced for panhard bar) w/ ARP bearing cap stud kit
- trans filter & pan gasket change
- plugs, wires and wire sleeves
- replaced leaking rear axle tube seals
- replaced noisy front hubs
- replaced battery (apparently my Optima redtop was defective so I returned it!)
The mechanic said the air bladders on my rear air ride shocks are torn so I am gonna replace all the shocks next month after we get the "clear to close" green light from our mortgage lender.
I also had the front diff rebuilt by a very reputable local diff & driveshaft shop.
The beast is rolling now and hopefully will be maintenance/repair free for the winter!
