So the power and ground wires (blue and black) get plugged directly into the OEM plug. Is that correct? Then I assume the plug end on the other side of the blue and black wires get plugged into the ballast?

you got it!

I found that the "terminals" that are designed to plug into the factory plug don't secure very well. On all of mine of have cut the factory plug off and spliced in. It seems much more secure and less chance of moisture issues.

i just didnt want to do any slicing or cutting off wires. not that im going back to stock but i like to keep it an options without really messing too much up, but i hear you on the moisture thing. i probably used almost half a roll of electrical tape

One more quick question. Why am I not able to just plug the factory bulb plug into the ballast directly? Or am I missing something?

i dont believe it fits. haha i didnt, or dont think i did, even try it, but essentially what you are doing is just that, just with the added wires.

damn i almost feel stupid if you can just do that! haha and if thats the case im going to go change it!

oh and using the aftermarket wiring gives you more options as where to install the ballast since the factory wiring doesnt have much play
