Dealer has had my '15 Denali for 3 months. What should I do?

Fel Pro offer any gaskets for your rig? They are high quality gaskets and often times better than the OEM.

Mahle is also an OEM manufacturer and O'rielys has a headgasket set in stock for $160

It's great to know that there are 3rd party alternatives.

I suspect that there are differences within the L86 variants that prevent them from being universally acceptable though, or am I wrong? I believe that's the root cause of my issue now. I need a design that was a limited run.

I also suspect an aftermarket gasket would prevent the work from being covered under warranty which would put a large dent the resale value of the vehicle.
In the likely event that I drive it immediately to the Lincoln/BMW/Porsche dealership I would like to have a clean conscious on the status of the vehicle. I suspect I could work the dealer and GM to accept this as a viable alternative though.

Went to the dealer this morning. There doesn't appear to be a timeline for getting my truck back. It's on a lift which shows some thought is being given to its condition I suppose. But, the block is exposed which always worries me and I'm not sure what dangling for 3 months is going to do to the finicky suspension parts.

Anyway, the story is that the head gasket on the '15 L86 (GM part #12700877) was discontinued and there are apparently none left in the known world. A cursory google search didn't turn up any online options with the part in stock. One site listed it as "special order item" and the rest listed it as discontinued.

That part number is available right now from a number of GM dealerships. GM doesn't make their own head gaskets, Fel-Pro or someone else does and they stick their name on them.

There is no stock available. Order from any of those sites and your order will be cancelled.

Is this thread real?
I'd collect my car and take it to another dealer.
fake probably 3 months lol

3 months is unreasonable to fix something

OP just needs to tell them TO PUT A NEW engine in it if they don't have the damn part...
