Hi Folks, new to forum. Ordered a a 22 Yukon in late October, and really didn't expect it till after the new year. I checked the order on 12/10, and low an behold it was at 4300 and scheduled for delivery on 12/16. I confirmed this with the dealer. Since then the delivery date has slipped to the 18th, then the 25th, and now today Jan. 6th. Salesmen hasn't told me much else.

Should I be concerned with this delay? I have read a few threads where trucks were stuck in QA and that there could be an issue with the car. I want to tell myself it's just related to the shortage of truck drivers and it is outside of anyone's control. Should I press the dealer for a more concete date and explanation? Or just be patient?

I wouldn't be too concerned. There are transportation issues that are delaying deliveries for a lot of vehicles. I ordered a Mercedes Sprinter van for my business that was released to carrier two weeks ago, and I found out yesterday that it won't arrive until after the new year. I'm going to have to buy it sight unseen to take advantage of the tax credit this year.

Having the same issue. Ordered a 2022 Tahoe LT in October and it was released to be shipped Nov. 6 still no truck. Recent update is it was delayed. Dealer think it is due to the holidays.

That has to be very frustrating. When I talked to GMC, I got the impression that it is on the dealer to push the transport company to push for delivery. GMC told me to ask the dealer to have the truck delivered immediately. The dealership says it's outside of their control. I'm tempted to call the transport company, Jack Cooper, and see what they tell me.

Has your dealer given you multiple delivery dates? Where are you? I'm in Louisiana, so I'm only 1 state over from where my truck is being held. Heck, I'd drive there myself if they would release it.

Yep. Going back and forth. The dealer claimed they asked for the truck to be released to them and were denied. Tried calling Jack Cooper and they will only talk to the dealer. My truck literally in the same state 2 hours away and been there since a October 26th. Beyond frustrating.

I was going to call jack cooper as well, but just pretend to be the dealership, wonder how they would validate this?

I would like to just understand the supply constaint. Is it holding vehicles till it has enough of them to justify shipping to a certain location or just a lack of resources to move vehicles in a timely fashion? I would hope there is a logical explanation. I'm a process improvement guy and it drives me crazy when things are run efficiently. Especially things that impact my need for instant gratification.

It's probably a mix of all the above. Everyone is trying to maximize dollars, so yes trucking companies naturally want to ship a full truck load every time based on final destination of all the trucks. Plus there's a shortage of truckers and equipment (not all truckers own their rig). Plus holidays. Plus... well covid of course.

I ship about 6000 containers per year from overseas to LA/LB. Same story. I can have 200 containers "stuck" at any given time. It's very frustrating and difficult to manage too.

Good luck. Keep us posted!

are your trucks at the local rail yard or one of the storage lots around Arlington? Bayed code 4B00 usually isn’t a delayed shipping code. From what I have seen it’s mostly used for quality inspection and hold.

Mine is at 4300. According to the JCTPals website, the origin was Arlington and the destination Midlothian STRG, TX and the destination name is Mid Texas Internl. I wish I could see more, but the website is very limited.

So Midlothian is typically a MP hold lot. I would recommend going on GM Inside news on the order thread and ask Linton to find out your code. Or ask your dealer to show it to you. GM told me for 2 months mine was 4300 when it was actually 4D00 waiting on parts. Another thing to look out for is GM not updating codes mine is on a trail to Chicago and show 4200 Delayed. There system is a complete mess.
