Detaching cruise control cable from throttle body?

Any advice on how to detach cruise control cable from throttle body without breaking the plastic retainer? I'm preparing to remove throttle body for cleaning, but I'm having a bit of a hard time removing the plastic retainer and leary prying with too much pressure and breaking the darn thing.

I have the same question. Well, had. I pried it off thinking it would pop off. It did, but looks like it damaged the plastic retainer. What did you end up doing?
