That's a legit question, Chip.....

Either way, there is no way in hell I would spend 9 hours waxing my truck. I'll pay a detail shop to do that for me, I don't have the patience, and it'd be dirty again in a day or two....lol. That is one shiny wax job, though! Looks awesome.

I'm right there with you! I wish I had the time or the patience, but when you can get it done for $100.........?

Haha, no. More lazy than anything. I uploaded the pics to Meguiar's site first and was to lazy to rehost them on ImageShack or the like.

Thanks again for the nice words guys!

That makes more sense. Great job!

I saw the new product on Spikes powerblock, was wondering how well it worked. I don't know that i could spend 9 hours on it though, considering it'd be dirty the second i drove out of the garage. But that does make quite the difference. Nice attention to detail.

Even if it gets dirty, you still have a smoother surface, so it's all Win.

It really does look good. I just know I'd get like an hour into it and just go, "screw this...it'll probably rain tomorrow, anyway."

;)

I'm right there with ya!! Patience is something I sometimes lack in a big way!

To have someone do what I did (paint correction) would be anywhere from $600 to $1000 out here.

It's actually supposed to rain tomorrow. I'm excited to see how the wax reacts to the rain water.

And like stated, now that the paint is smooth washing will be a lot easier since the drying towels will slide over the paint with little resistance.

I like working on my car and other toys regardless of what I'm doing. I find it relaxing.

Are you sure about that? That's really exaggerated.

I owned 2 detail shops (Pomona & Irvine) in the past years and there's no way the pricing would be that high. A professional could do the work you've shown in 5-6 hours inc. interior/engine compartment detailing. I have been in the business for well over 20 years now so the comment kinda caught my attention.

Take a look at this thread I posted a while back showing a paint correction:

"It could have been worse"

EDIT:
Sorry, didn't mean to sound rude with this post.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but "when I was younger" (LOL) I used to do the same thing. I could spend a wole day on my '66 Pontiac, or my '72 Cutlass. I would literally work on them all day, out in the sun, listening to music. I still do somewhat, but not like that anymore. You have to remember, I'm in Tampa. You can get a Full D down here for $100. I too used to be a detailer (I also worked in a body shop), and I loved it. I still do. Things change though. You'll see.
