I just paid 5k for a 2dr 96 black Yukon GT 4x4 with 96k miles. Mint inside and out with a little rust on frame. Stopped rust with rust-oleum and gave it a tune up. Runs great and is awesome off road. I haven't seen one like it yet.

that sounds like a pretty good deal really. mine had very little rust on it when i got it. 2 bad spots. and this winter destroyed it.. my worst spot rusted all the way through. i dont know the first thing about body work so i dont attempt anything. id say yours was a good deal. any pictures?

I looked here in the Northeast for 8 months before buying my 97 two door in North Carolina.
I paid $8K plus another $500.. to have it trucked up to me.
I had unique requirements though, looking for a bone STOCK, one owner, barn door vehicle with less than 95K miles and wait for it.............with NO RUST.

Did I overpay, probably but.I got what I wanted
The good news was that It had just gotten 4 brand new tires and I have all records showing maintenance. Recent work; an intake set including plugs, wires and cap along with oil cooler lines.
Over the 8 months most vehicles I saw were $4.5K to $6.5K and all needed more additional money spent to get to my personal standards.

One thing i didn't ask about and probabaly could/would have been a deal breaker is my vehicles original owner was a smoker; I am not.

Working on that issue right now having bombed the interior with Smoke out and now working the A/C system with BG Frigi clean/fresh products.

New carpets and Leather seats are probably in my future as well.

So far I've replaced stock cassette radio with a stock Cd, added the cubby in place of the remote CD.
I've added Homelink and a temp/compass mirror and am working on adding heated mirrors.
Rear defrost is still kicking my ass, but i'll figure it out with you all helping out.

Sorry for the long winded post but in the end I have what I wanted.
