Mercedes' OEM oil change procedure involves vacuuming the oil out from the top. I wonder how much they are able to exchange that way.

It's hard to say. But I'd speculate the difference is insignificant, or they wouldn't recommend it. If you think about it, some amount remains clinging to every surface inside the engine. You can't get it all.Mercedes' OEM oil change procedure involves vacuuming the oil out from the top. I wonder how much they are able to exchange that way.
Yes I know. The only way to be sure would be to remove the oil pan and see how much is "trapped" behind the fumoto threads. It's hard to say. Do you normally strike your oil pan drain plug?I would love to install this on my 2011 but I'm concerned for I actually use my SSV for what it's designed to do and that's going off-road. Is the Fumoto valve strong enough to withstand the rigors of 4X4ing?
