Does any use a Fumoto oil pan drain valve?

Mercedes' OEM oil change procedure involves vacuuming the oil out from the top. I wonder how much they are able to exchange that way.

It's hard to say. But I'd speculate the difference is insignificant, or they wouldn't recommend it. If you think about it, some amount remains clinging to every surface inside the engine. You can't get it all.

Yes I know. The only way to be sure would be to remove the oil pan and see how much is "trapped" behind the fumoto threads.

I would love to install this on my 2011 but I'm concerned for I actually use my SSV for what it's designed to do and that's going off-road. Is the Fumoto valve strong enough to withstand the rigors of 4X4ing?

I got 'em for my vehicles...but I sure wouldn't use one for offroading !

Do you normally strike your oil pan drain plug?

I have a ValvOMax on two vehicles and love them. No more mess on my hands from turning out the drain plug.

I was wary of the Fumoto but the ValvOMax has a double seal; the check valve ball is the primary seal but the dust cap has a seal in it and functions as the secondary seal in the event that the ball leaks. That sold me.
