no torque converter yet..but will later on..cams operating range is 2k to 6k rpm.. from a dig its a dog...bt once it moves the midrange is awesome but uptop i think the injectors are maxxing out or not getting enough fuel

When I got my truck it ran almost a 19 at like 76. With my cam and full bolt ons it went down to 17.6 at 81. Now with my 3000 stall its down to 16.4 at 84. My track elevation is 3600ft. At sea level wy truck would be in the 14s. yours would probably be in the high 15s. Its the elevation.

My truck dynoed at 251whp stock and now it has 348whp.

Don't feel bad bro it's the elevation that's your problem.

When you get your new fuel pump make sure you get one that you can 'grow into' so you don't have to replace it again if you plan on more performance mods. Once you get that installed with your injectors go get your tune and run the strip again.

yes going up to an altitude like denver wich is roughly 1 mile above sea level the air pressure is between 11 - 12 psi sea level air pressure is 14.7 psi so your mixture is very very lean at that altitude the only thing thats impervious to high altitudle is forced induction

OK then, running a larger cam without even a small stall will result in a pig off the line. That's why you're not moving very quick in the first 60'. Gears would really help too at this point.

Get the fuel issue sorted out, get the stall and you'll be back in business. Like mentioned before, for every tenth of a second you cut off your 60' time you can safely expect about 1.3 -1.8 times that off your ET for a street vehicle running 12-16 second ets.

hey thanks guys im starting to understand how its the elevation what slowed me down but i will get all my fuel stuff sorted out soon and my tune...im going with the AEM 320 fuel pump which should be enough for what i have planned for it..i found a DA calculator that converts the ET and MPH based on the track and weather conditions of the day and exact hour and mine converted to 16.4 with the fixed elevation

When I was stationed at Fort Carson my had very noticeable power difference hell on my drive home to Houston my Tahoe started to go back to baby beast and that was back in 2010 when I had the 5.3L built! It is the mile high city that's killing you Bud.

I wouldn't do the injectors I would do the pump though. Walbro is a good brand too look at their 400LPH pumps.

Also when you do you cam make sure to do a converter with the right stall for the cam that makes all the deference.

hey guys i went to bandimere speedway in morrison, colorado this saturday to try out my tahoe and cant find many other tahoes 1/4 mile passes to compare..i did two passes and my best was 18.0 at 81 mph..

A midget on a scooter could beat you. :lol2:

i hate to say it because im a supercharger kinda guy but a turbo is just about the only way to combat the effects of high altitude
if anyof you guys are top gear fans watch the bolivia special its on netflix and you can see how they could barely keep there vehicles running at altitudes of 13000 to 15000 feet
