hey guys i went to bandimere speedway in morrison, colorado this saturday to try out my tahoe and cant find many other tahoes 1/4 mile passes to compare..i did two passes and my best was 18.0 at 81 mph..im alittle dissapointed in this but wanted to get your opinions on this..my current mods where a 216/220 .560 114lsa TFS cam which has not been tuned yet..LT headers with ORY BB tune, CAI, vette servo, and Efans.

now i was also running my 22s with 285-45-22 tires. but can the retune for the cam make a bigger difference in this?

that same morning i went to get it dynod and also got dissapointed..two pulls where done and my best was 241 hp and 266 torque what i heard was that the elevation also affects the performance and here in denver the elevation is 5280ft above sea level which i was told decrease the HP by about 20%

now does this seem right to you guys for my mods? my injectors are stock nd i was told they could be maxxed out..also need to get my retune from justin for the cam but dont know if that will make that much of a difference
i know something has to be wrong with this or something is killing my power i should be getting

Denver elevation Is killing you not to mentioned the 22's but that shouldn't effect you as much as the Elevation, Back when i was stock well Long tube/ CAI / Exhaust/ Corvette Servo the truck ran a 15.45 @94.24 MPH With 24's

Just Ran the 1/4 last week and hit my all time best 12.8 @ 109 MPH With 24's ON and full weight.

I found a formula online and it calc'd a HP drop of 16% for Denver's altitude. I'm looking forward to getting my rig to sea level with my camper on back to see if it pulls better.

It's the elevation killing your times. There are elevation conversion calculators out there. Your rig will seem like it's on nitrous if you ever take a road trip to a lower elevation. I drive mine to Montana during the summers and at 3500' elevation it just seems like someone took away half the power. I can only imagine what 5500' would be like.

I just ran mine this weekend to get some baseline runs and I'm almost at sea level. Bone stock 5.3 with 240,000 miles and 22" wheels/tires. Made two passes. No weight removal at all and spare tire still attached.

16.85 @ 81mph
16.87 @ 81 mph

Also weighed my rig a couple weeks ago. 5480 lbs without me in it and a full tank of fuel with the spare tire still attached.

yeaa it must be the elevation..but also i began thinking and im getting the feeling my fuel pump is going out..at highway the power kills past 4k rpm if im on low fuel and once i pump the power gets back up..also my fuel gauge moves around alot everytime i shift..and a local tuner checked my truck for a diagnostic weeks ago nd said the fuel pressure was a little low..i was recommended on using a AEM 320 pump which is only about 120 and many have used it with great results..will also add 8.1 injectors and get my retune from justin soon and head to the track again

what i think is weird is that you went about 1.2 seconds faster than me but we had almost identical MPH...also did a calculator for my HP and i should be around 300hp at lower elevation..but also the pump and retune could also help out alot there

2.92 is a really slow 60' time... were you brake torquing at the line? if you cant do a burnout even when ur trying, you should be able to stand on the stall and launch at a pretty good rpm to cut that down to low 2's. half a second in the 60' is easily a second or more in the 1/4

Yeah mine was cutting 2.5 sixty foot times. Didn't make a difference if I foot braked it or not.

Did you do a stal converter too or just a cam?
