ok, here is a question then, & sorry for missing that key info previously. the slash series are current hungry mothers... always have been.
If you have 2 0hm subs, or DVC 4 ohm subs it might be wired to a 1 ohm load instead of 4 ohm. That would CERTAINLY cause an increase in current consumption as it would be very very inefficient.
like wise if it were wired to 8 ohms instead of 2 ohms, you;d be running excessive gain to make up for the <correct> lack of output.
What is the impedence being presented to the amp?
8 ohm? 6 ohm? 4ohm? 3ohm? 2 ohm? 1ohm? 0.5 ohm (DMM across the two wires while NOT connected to the amp)
remember the 1000 1 is only 1.5 ohm stable at best (and 4 ohm is far better, while 2 ohm is also just fine). The RIPS technology means they are current hungry mother-funkers...
That is the price you pay for not having to worry (as much) about impedance matching.
