Well, I can finally say I belong here now: Picked up an '04 1500 Suburban LT 4x4 and drove it home. Has everything I want (leather, premium sound, bench 2nd row) and nothing that I don't (specifically, sunroof and AutoRide.) Under 140k and it's a one-owner truck. Great shape with no dings, scratches or visible rust. It's white which isn't my favorite color but acceptable and should stay reasonably cool in hot weather.

Now begins the process of making it mine. First step will be husky floor liners (wife has Weather Techs and I don't like them as they're too smooth.)

Does anyone know if the factory stereo has an aux input? I couldn't find one in my cursory look around. Also am I right that OnStar is only going to allow hands free calling if I have a subscription?

Too dark for pics, so I'll try to get some up tomorrow.

Congrats! Welcome to the club! I believe you can add an aux input. There is a how to either in the electronics or tech section

I'll check it out. The factory stereo seems to work fine other than cosmetics (the paint coming off the buttons - I know this is a common issue) and since it has steering wheel controls I'd like to keep it as factory as possible, but I do need a way to hook up an iPod/iPhone.

Yes you can usually add AUX thru the CD changer controls, search the forum. Also, it isn't hard to add an aftermarket radio and get it to work with the steering wheel controls, mine happens to be a Sony that somebody installed, but most brands will work with an adapter. Finally, I may be wrong, but Onstar in these trucks is analog and has been kicked to the curb a while ago.

First accessory ordered: Husky floor liners since the truck came without the factory floor mats.

Yeah, I know some people like Weather Techs but the wife has WTs in her CRV and we both hate them. They're too smooth, seriously when I step in there if there's even a little moisture on my shoe my foot slips. The dog hates it too, she jumped in and skidded across the floor!

I've had Husky's in my last 2 4runners and I like them. The fit is not as good as WTs and the material is not as soft but they stick to the carpet much better and they have a nice textured top that prevents skidding or slipping.
