Hi All,
I have a 2011 LT 4WD with ~38k miles that I bought as a certified used in October. I just had the lifters, cam shaft, and pistons replaced due to the ongoing issues with this engine (Vortec 5.3L V8 SFI). My original complaint was a fluttering sound from the engine that was made when when the accelerator was being depresed. After the work I described above, the sound is still there. It is not in the hvac as far as I can tell, as the sound is present when the system is turned off. Has anyone had a similar experience? The sound I can best liken it to is when we would put baseball cards in the spokes of our bicycle as a kid.

Exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold? Maybe a cracked manifold or gasket failure? Does it get faster as you go faster?

Went to the shop yesterday and had tech ride with me. He can't hear what I'm hearing but thought it might be wind across the cross bars on the roof rack. I see where he's coming from, but I think you're on to something with the exhaust.

I don't know, if it's an exhaust leak you would think a mechanic would be able to tell that it is, he might actually be on to something himself!
