To the non-enthusiast crowd they would already be asleep or rolling their eyes like my wife does regarding TYF or anything mod related.

Thx man. I am still happy with the Range. Wife likes the blue LED that shines down on her feet, but has no idea why it is there or what it is for. lol V8 mode all the time. Not good for the MPGs around town, but keeping that long body out of V4 mode around town, I am happy with. I may eventually tune it out, but in the interim it is a good moderate cost solution. Unplug it if you want don't want to run V8 all the time. Pretty easy.

Strictly forbidden mods..lol yeah I tried that and still manage to do a few things that she hasn't noticed. All the mods in this thread thus far have been done under the radar. I have a few more things I hope to get to.... @SidewaystheSeven

Glad to hear it. From what I've heard, there's little to no difference in MPGs with it in V8 mode all the time.

Yeah, I upgraded her head unit to a OEM-look Eonon Android head unit for nav, bluetooth and whatnot and she will probably get my PPV stuff when I'm ready for another look but that's about it. Well, except that Range device. I doubt she'd even notice the light on her feet, she's 4'11" and IMO sits damed near inside the steering wheel when she drives.

Esky Cross Rails Painted and Installed

I gave the Esky rack cross rails 3 fresh coats of gloss black spray paint and gloss clear coat this weekend. The cross rails have been off since I put the rack on as I wanted to paint them first before putting them up on top.

Yes it looks better without them on, however when we go to the beach sometimes we throw the surfboard up there for the kids. Previously, we had to stuff it inside the Honda Odyssey. Even though we rinse the board off before we get back to the truck, it's much better to have that residual sand and saltwater on the outside of the vehicle than all over the interior. Just throw some pool noodles over the cross rails and no worries.

They were off a 2007 Escalade, hence the sun damage. I took the plastic end pieces off (4 small Torx screws) and they slide out.

I lubed the screws, but did not do anything to the ends since they are plastic. Lol ..This small job is super easy and you probably already have the materials in your garage.

Looking sharp. Interesting point in taking them on and off. My esky racks are off an nbs and didnt have the cross rails when i bought them. Picked up a set of cross rails in the fall from another member and had them color matched to my truck. I had to dismount the rack off my truck and then disassemble the whole end cap and gaskets assembly from the side rails to be able to slide the cross rails in. It was a bit of a PITA! LOL.

What kind of paint did you use, will it hold up with the board and other things sliding across them ?

I was thinking a gloss black powder coat for mine

Here are the painted and installed Esky cross rails. They are pretty low profile and hardly noticeable as compared to my lowered NBS. Better that they are on and can be used than sitting in my attic.
