@Bigbeardenali1992Looking sharp. Interesting point in taking them on and off. My esky racks are off an nbs and didnt have the cross rails when i bought them. Picked up a set of cross rails in the fall from another member and had them color matched to my truck. I had to dismount the rack off my truck and then disassemble the whole end cap and gaskets assembly from the side rails to be able to slide the cross rails in. It was a bit of a PITA! LOL.
I just removed the rear end caps, loosened the screws, slipped the cross rails on, moved them into place and tightened the screws to lock them in.
Mucho better .
What kind of paint did you use, will it hold up with the board and other things sliding across them ?
I was thinking a gloss black powder coat for mine
I actually had some High Heat Gloss Black Rust Oleum spray paint sitting around, so I used that and some gloss clear coat. I could have sent them out to the powder coaters as I had some stuff for work sent in, but this will work. The amount of times that they will be used probably doesn't warrant the need to powder coat them, but great idea.
They would probably not stand up to repetitive sand abuse from the boards, but my intention would be to use pool noodles cut open to cover the cross rails and pad the board as well, then remove the noodles. @05Single
