77,400 miles.
Been busy with work and not much time other than trying to keep the long body clean in between the almost daily thunderstorms.
And running my daughter to lacrosse practice twice per week about 26 miles round trip and 3 tournament weekends in May/June.
Back and forth to Wellington x 2 days per week (128 miles), back and forth to Delray Beach x 2 days (36 miles) and 1 back and forth to Apopka (overnight stay 382 miles). Plus the wife is always out and about.
1. Installed some Bosch Icon wipers after a solid coating of Rain X to help with the
non-stop rains.
2. Fixed the passenger interior door grab handle.
3. Had 2 new front tires mounted. Thx @randeez and @BADRIDES for the wheel offers. Got busy, circled back around then all this happened. Thought I was in @randeez garage for a moment with so many broken parts lol. So had to go with maintenance over mods. Boooo!!
While the truck was on the lift for the tires, I asked my buddy to give her a once over due to all the upcoming road trips. My wife had noticed a clunk happening in reverse and I noticed another clunk when accelerating from a dead stop.
I figured it was motor mount time and/or a suspension issue. Ding ding ding...
And this is where stuff started to break....ugghhh...and all at once.
Buddy calls me and says >>
4. Both motor mounts are toast.
GM part number 15854941.
5. Both lower ball joints are toast.
Moog part number K6541.
6. Might as well do a new transmission mount while they are in there.
GM part number 15813693
He ordered the parts and I was able to get it back into the shop the following Thursday.
And then the hat trick comes out.
While the truck is on the lift, his tech noticed a slight drip of coolant on/under the radiator. Upon further investigation, he found a tiny hole in the radiator. WTF!!
6. Radiator.
I don't have a part number, but it was local and in stock.
My buddy was able to source the radiator the same day, so I left the truck at his shop for the night to be completed on Friday morning. Turns out a GMC was in the shop and had same radiator leak, just a different location.
The hoses and connectors all looked good, so we decided to leave those alone for now.
He threw it back up for an alignment and called it a day on Friday at noon. What an ugly looking invoice!
Truck drove nice to Delray Beach and held temperature at 210F without any clunks.
So back in business.

Crazy how these things have the issues with the motor mounts. None of my older stuff has issues like these GMT900's do. Their motor mounts last for decades LOL

Glad to see the long body is getting driven! Trucks are made to be driven!! Glad she’s in good hands!
