Front Differential Housing Tube on AWD 6.0 slight...ok major problem

Well, I noticed some drippings in the driveway the other day. They were not from the birds. Looked under, and saw some wet drips from the front diff. Not unusual, the seals always leak, and putting in new ones makes them leak more. So since I got this one in August, I needed to change the fluid. Ironically, I had to take it to a shop, where they had to weld a nut onto the fill whole because could not break the bolt. So drained it, oil came out, it was dark, not burned. Standard crap on the plug. Fill it with oil and Lukas Stop Leak. Used it on the others, works great for the seals. Drove 4 hours, and while at the speed shop today, noticed that the leak was coming from housing tube on the passenger side. Nice crack has some how shown up. No clue how that happened. So...this is an AWD obviously, I went to the normal GM parts site, put in Denali which means it's AWD and it shows me the part, but it says 4WD only. Anyone know if the AWD is the same?

Also, Have replaced this in the 5.3, I think I just moved the innards over, was easy. Sound right?

Niice! Im sure they are all the same. differences are mostly with the drive shaft and tcase, or a 15min welderup job!

Turns out they are like 95 bucks. Last time I had the diff out, I dropped the dam thing and to replace it. I just never have good luck. Putting in a new seal so that start to leak too...

Incorrect. 4wd use a solenoid on the tube to engage the front differential when in Auto/4wd. However that being said they may be dimensionally the same and may work.

Good point! Then it would be a matter of
Making up some kind of slug the go infont of the actuator to hold the mesh ring in full time. Or just tranfer the guts over and plug the hole.

front diff cases are the same no matter 4/awd.
